Tuning flat slide carburettor Mikuni TM36, suitably jetted for SR500 and XT500
Due to the design as a flat slide carburettor (in contrast to the original membrane-controlled round slide carburettor)
you can achieve a much more spontaneous throttle response and increased torque. Realistic additional power of approx. 3HP over
the entire speed range.
Designed by the Mikuni carburetor specialist for operation in the Yamaha SR 500. Usually fits "Plug'n'Play",
the original trains can still be used. The conversion can be completed in 20 minutes.
Of course, a special setup (e.g. tuning camshaft or 535ccm kit) may require a different jetting.
The carburetor also has a well-adjusted accelerator pump and a pre-adjusted cold start device.
Also included is a tuning kit for fine tuning (see photo).
When using an open air filter, we recommend installing the mounting set with item number VG-HAL .
An entry is usually no problem for the SR 2J4/XT500 with first registration up to 12/1988.
Before ordering, to be on the safe side, please ask the TÜV inspector you trust (if possible, who drives a motorbike yourself).
IMPORTANT: the nozzles have been determined to the best of our knowledge and belief, based on calculations AND empirical values.
Every motorcycle is different - further adjustment work may have to be carried out. You can get more nozzles from us on request.
Neither the importer nor the reseller can be held liable for any damage caused by incorrect spraying etc.
Tip: After modification, the original intake rubber can be used with the TM36 carburettor without any problems.
To do this, it must be shortened in length to ensure a seamless transition between the carburetor and this component.
That should be about 5 mm, the use of a disc sander or something similar is helpful here.
However, we can also supply perfectly matching intake manifolds from Miluni, these can be found under item number AS-T36.
