The m-Lock backup capacitor can attenuate short-term voltage drops at the main relay. Major voltage dips can occur with very large cylinder displacement or high compression if your electric starter turns the engine very slowly or reluctantly. This backup capacitor can be used to prevent the short-term voltage dip from causing the main relay to drop out.
